Honolulu Directory

Honolulu is located on the southeast coast of Oahu, one of the Hawaiian Islands. The capital is home to some of the best surfing beaches in the world, with turquoise waters, silky sand and not a day that’s too cold to swim. Snorkelling and scuba diving is also popular in the bay to view the tropical fish that live beneath the waters.

The urban centre is a dense metropolis of skyscrapers and traffic jams, although it is one of the most laid-back centres in the United States. Honolulu is one of the world's premier tourist destinations.

Nearby is The Big Island, which is home to the world’s longest continually erupting volcano – but don’t worry, you won’t get hurt. Many visitors to the island take a tour or a hike around the erupting volcano. For amazing vistas, drive down Highway 11, which skirts the undulating lava fields of the Ka'u Desert between Volcanoes National Park and the tiny southern town of Na'alehu.
